MISSION STATEMENT Eye Contact Vision Center is comprised of three partners committed to providing each patient with a unique, personalized service experience. Patients will not find new people to deal with on every visit as each partner provides skilled experience which starts when your appointment is scheduled.
OUR FACILITY We are a modern, high-tech facility providing primary eye care to patients of all ages. Our eyeglass fabrication laboratory is very well-stocked with lenses for fast and accurate lens fabrication in-house. Whenever possible, we will make the glasses on the same day the order is received. Our extensive contact lens inventory is stocked with trial contacts in single vision, multifocal, color enhancement, and toric (astigmatism) lenses to allow for “Express” fittings. Most patients can be fitted in a contact lens on the day of their visit. Just let our staff know you want a contact lens fitting when you book your appointment!
Meet the Partners
Dr. Mark W. Foust
Optometric Physician
“It has been my privilege to see over 20,000 patients in the Rock Hill and York County community. This has enabled me to gain extremely valuable experience in many aspects of patient care.”
Dr. Foust earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984 and received his Doctorate in optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, T.N., in 1990. He completed internships at St. Luke’s Eye Center in Tarpon Springs, FL, and Holland Eye Associates in Raleigh, N.C.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the South Carolina Optometric Association, and the Catawba Optometric Society in which he has served as president (1991-1993).
Dr. Foust has been a therapeutic board certified practicing Optometric Physician in Rock Hill since 1991. His areas of expertise include: diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, glaucoma, ocular injuries, difficult contact lens fits, geriatric patient care, laser vision evaluations and case management, and comprehensive eye examinations for children and adults.
Dr. Foust was one of the first Optometrists to have lasik surgery for high myopia (near-sightedness) performed in the United States (Sept. 1997) at The Laser Center (TLC). Dr. Foust is an affiliate doctor with TLC and provides pre- and post-operative care to patients receiving care at any TLC facility.
Dr. Foust is originally from Newport News, V.A., but has spent the majority of his youth in the Piedmont of North Carolina before moving to Rock Hill in 1991. His hobbies include Saint Bernards, scuba diving, sport fishing, disc golf, and photography.
Robert N. McBee
S.C. Board Certified Optician
Robert received his South Carolina Optician license and completed the American Board of Opticians certification in 1991. He has been a practicing optician in Rock Hill since 1991 and has over two decades of experience as a lab technician, optical store manager, regional manager, and quality control manager for several of the large national optical store chains. Robert has received several awards for excellence in optical store management and training.
His areas of expertise include: frame selection, eyeglass repairs, lens fabrication, safety glasses, and the design and fitting of progressive bifocal, trifocal, and single focal vision lenses.
Robert’s hobbies include golf, boating, jet skiing, traveling, fitness, and Panthers football! He married his wife, Michelle, in 1994 and has three beautiful daughters: Tori, Jewel, and Kaitlyn. Michelle works at Lincolnton Medical Hospital in North Carolina as an ultrasound technician.
Dawn Donaldson
Office Manager
Dawn has an extensive background in hotel sales and marketing, VIP event coordination and has worked for a major insurance broker writing insurance plans for large groups. She has been with Eye Contact Vision Center since 1991 and brings an expertise in management, insurance, marketing and patient communications.
Dawn is originally from Arkansas and now considers South Carolina her adopted home. She was ecstatic to have the lasik procedure in 1999 at the Charlotte TLC center which opened the door to her new passion Scuba Diving. She has received extensive scuba training and holds Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Master Diver certifications. She loves to travel to Caribbean island destinations to dive and relax. (There are not many islands Dawn hasn’t been to!) Other hobbies include gardening with a love for exotic cold hardy palms. Her backyard looks like you have stepped into a Caribbean vacation resort! She also enjoys attracting wild birds to her paradise backyard which include hawks, owls and bluebirds.
One thing you can count on as a patient in our practice is that Dawn will greet you with a smile and a genuine concern to meet your needs whatever they may be.
